On September 7, 2016, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced two new phones named iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus which came rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. This was a huge turnover. They also added that they have used lightning instead of the 3.5mm jack to bring digital sound output and also mentioned as this the courage to move forward to the next step.
Always apple is the marketing leader and their new changes bring change to all other companies too. When Apple introduced EarPods with lighting connectors other headphone manufacturing companies were also ready to do it. But will this change persist?. For me its like it will persist in all the products that will be introduced by Apple itself. But now technology is evolving. There are some other companies also who are getting adapted to this change. Recently Google introduced new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL which also doesn’t have any headphone jack and this remains the same also in the new mi Max 2 without any headphone jack. But there is a change in this. Both the phones do not have lightning jack instead they are having USB type C jack and they also providing and special USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in their box. So now the game is almost changing in the way 3.5 mm jacks are vanishing .Previously only Apple devices had the difficulty in getting a lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter but now some other phones also do the same. So what do you think will this change persist and other phone manufacturers also use a different type of connectors or 3.5mm will back in the market again. Say what you feel in the comments below.
